The Association Jean-Nicolas Stofflet  was founded  in 1994 at Bathelémont (Lorraine) by a team of enthusiats for local history who pooled the results of their studies and try to share them with others.

Before becoming General in Vendée, Stofflet was born in Lorraine: the Association was created in his birth place and has studied in his bulletin  A propos de Jean-Nicolas Stofflet the links between the Lorraine and this famous general.

Moreover, the association publishes some studies or cahiers d'histoire locale about the villages, some particular places and events connected with the country,
